FILTER QUESTIONS

 

Here are instructions for enabling the filter in your browser.  If you need any assistance, please call us 24 x 7 at 1-800-644-6638.


Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher (most users):

1.       Open Internet Explorer

2.       Click on the Tools menu, and then click on Internet Options.

3.       Click on the Connections tab.

4.       Click on the Settings Button (if you use a broadband connection such as DSL or cable, click LAN Settings instead).

5.       Check the box “Use a proxy server for this connection”.  In the address box, change the server name to xfilter.net.

6.       Set the port number to 80.

7.       Click OK, and then click OK again to close Internet Options.

8.       Close Internet Explorer to apply the new settings.

9.       Re-open Internet Explorer.

10.   Enter dial up username and password.

11.   Press ok, you should now be able to browse with the new settings.

 

Mozilla Firefox (3.0 or higher)

1.       Open Firefox

2.       Click on the Tools menu, and then click on Options.

3.       Click on the Advanced heading and then click on the Network Tab.

4.       Click on the Settings Button

5.       Select “Manual proxy configuration”

6.       On the line HTTP proxy change the server name to  xfilter.net

7.       Set the port number to 80.

8.       Click OK, and then click OK again to close Options.

9.       Restart Firefox to apply the settings.

10.   Enter dialup username and password.

11.   Press ok, you should now be able to browse with the new settings.

Google Chrome (3.0 or higher)

1.       Open Chrome.

2.       Click on the Tools menu, and then click on Options.

3.       Click on Under the Hood , then click on Change proxy settings.

4.       Click on the Settings Button (if you use a broadband connection such as DSL or cable, click LAN Settings instead).

5.       Check the box “Use a proxy server for this connection”.  In the address box, change the server name to xfilter.net.

6.       Set the port number to 80.

7.       Click OK, and then click OK again to close Internet Options.

8.       Press close on the Chrome options window.

9.       Close Chrome to apply the new settings.

10.   Re-open Chrome.

11.   Enter dial up username and password.
